The management of perception, cognition and influence on public opinion has always been of interest from a long time ago, especially by statesmen and different governments. To the extent that governments had to align public opinion with their goals and plans for their survival. Therefore, facing cognitive warfare is not a new phenomenon. Rather, it is a new embodiment of perceptions and efforts that have existed for a long time and are referred to in the current era with various titles such as cognitive warfare. In the meantime, the study of the cognitive warfare of the Umayyad government against the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is of special importance as a historical example in this field. Because, according to history, the Umayyads were one of the biggest threats to the Islamic society, and in the field of cognitive warfare, the roots of many intellectual deviations in the Islamic world return to this dynasty. Therefore, in this article, with a descriptive and analytical method, we deal with the problem of "changing the intellectual components of the Islamic society" as one of the most important strategies of the Umayyad leaders' actions during the cognitive warfare against the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), which was followed by them in different ways.
