Gender justice in the Islamic utopia (with emphasis on the Quranic view of the issue)

Abstract

The issue of gender is one of the important categories of civilization that Islam has also paid attention to in the form of the concept of gender justice.Gender justice is a phenomenon that guarantees the growth and excellence of the individual, the foundation of the family and the health of society.The aim of this study was to study gender justice in the Islamic utopia from the perspective of the Holy Quran with a combined method (quantitative and qualitative).The statistical population of the study is all verses of the Quran(6236 verses). The collected data were analyzed using EXCEL and MAXQDA software. The results showed that according to the Quran, there is no difference between men and women in terms of their creation and nature,and men and women have the same rights and duties in different dimensions of sexual justice.The identified dimensions of gender justice in the verses of the Quran are:1.Justice in the creation of man and woman, 2.Justice in property, 3.Justice in freedom of action, 4.Justice in the reciprocal rights of the spouse. Also, by counting the gender words, it was determined that 80 verses related to the male gender and 73 verses related to the female gender were mentioned. According to the Qur'an, the strategies for achieving gender justice in the Islamic utopia are:promoting spirituality in the family,good fellowship,consultation and consensus,honesty and trust, division of labor and cooperation,informal control.
